It has been just over a month since a parent at Danderyd high school made the nasty discovery.
The skeleton hanging from the ceiling of the theater as a Halloween decoration appeared to be real. Later, the assessment was made that it most likely comes from a human.
– When we were reached by the information, we rushed there and just said “how can it be possible?”, said the principal Fredrik Nordlander to TV4 Nyheterna.
It is still unclear how the skeleton got there. The principal suspects that may have been in the building since the 1950s, as human remains were used in biology lessons.
To be buried in a memorial grove
Now the high school, together with Danderyd’s parish, has decided that the skeleton should be cremated and buried in a memorial grove in Danderyd, reports Mitti.
An osteologist must examine the skeleton, and then write a certificate if it is a human remains.
Pastor Kristin Molander tells the newspaper that the situation is unusual in Sweden, but recalls that in other countries it happens every day.
– But we who have lived in peacetime are not used to it, she says to Mitti.
