Skanör’s harbor is awarded a blue flag: “You get moved”

The blue flag is waving in the wind in the port of Skanör. It was hoisted in connection with the opening of the port for the season. Inge Lindblad, involved in the port association, is proud of the award and was the one who raised the flag at the top.

– You are moved. I had the honor of raising the flag and it felt great in every way, says Inge Lindblad.

The work to receive the award began last year on the initiative of Inge Lindblad. In order to receive a blue flag, the port must meet a number of requirements such as good water quality, safety and accessibility.

In the port of Skanör, they have, among other things, renovated toilets and showers and carried out a rescue plan to reach the goals.

The flag will fly until October

With the award, Inge Lindblad hopes that more tourists will find their way there and that the port will gain a good reputation. He also hopes that the fight to get a blue flag will pay off financially.

– We need to bring in a lot of money. The port cost is large. The major renovation that has been done also costs a lot of money, despite support from Vellinge municipality, says Inge Lindblad.

Blue flag is awarded annually and next year a new examination is made by the jury in the Foundation for Environmental Education, which is behind the award. This means that the blue flag in Skanör will fly until October 15, when the season ends.
