Due to poorer working conditions according to the union
The union says that the shortage of staff is due to the fact that many have stopped working as train hosts and train drivers not only due to the pandemic’s shortage of work but, due to deteriorating working conditions.
– They have had it tough for a long time, but it has escalated. Employers demand a kind of flexibility that is extremely difficult to reconcile with a family life, says Gabriella Lavecchia, union president of SEKO.
SJ says that they are working to improve working conditions in the long term, but thus warns of canceled trains.
