It’s been 16 years since Brad Pitt and George Clooney last spoke to each other. They are now reunited for a new film.
Confessions of a Dangerous Man in 2002, the saga Ocean from 2001 to 2007 and Burn After Reading in 2008. After collaborations that brought joy to the public, it had been 16 years since we had seen Brad Pitt and George Clooney in the same film, even though they represent coolness incarnate in Hollywood, multiplying self-deprecation and humor with American charm, without losing sight of the performances of acclaimed actors.
After 16 years, fans of the two sixty-year-olds will finally be able to rejoice: Brad Pitt and George Clooney, close friends in the city, find themselves in front of the cameras. In France, however, this will not go through the cinema box but through the streaming box directly, since their latest collaboration will not be released on the big screen. The two actors play each other again in September in Wolfs (the English error is intentional).
In this action comedy directed by Jon Watts, who signed the latest Spider-Man Starring Tom Holland, Brad Pitt and George Clooney play two lone wolves, professional crime scene cleaners, forced to team up. But obviously, nothing will happen as planned during this night which will prove hellish for the two accomplices. Wolfs was previewed at the Venice Film Festival on 1er September 2024. The two stars put on a show, multiplying jokes and self-mockery to the delight of festival-goers and journalists.
As for American critics, Jon Watts’ film was relatively popular, with Screen Daily calling it a “jubilant gift”, while Variety praised the protagonists’ “perfect comic timing”. For Vanity Fair, the film is certainly not very original or inventive, “it only tries to entertain”. Others are more doubtful, like the Times which deplores “a buddy movie which advances painfully, even drifts”, while IGN regrets “the repetitive approach and the almost identical main characters [qui] removes the duo’s characteristic alchemy.”
Wolfs released exclusively in streaming in France. It is scheduled for release on September 27, only on Apple TV+. Remember that the Apple firm’s programs are also accessible to subscribers of the Canal+ bouquet.
