Volodymyr Zelensky’s hometown of Kryvyi Rih was hit by a Russian robot attack on Tuesday.
Six people died and over 20 were injured when a five-storey building was hit in the middle of the night.
– The Russian killers continue their war against residential buildings, Zelenskyy said after the attack.
The city of Kryvyi Rih with 600,000 inhabitants is several miles from the front. At three o’clock on the night of Tuesday, a five-story building in the city was hit by a Russian robot.
700 square meters of the house caught fire, from the first to the fifth floor. Initially, three deaths were reported, but later on Wednesday morning, Mayor Oleksandr Vilkul announced that six people had died in the five-story building, writes the exiled Russian newspaper Meduza.
Over 20 people in the house are also said to have been injured in the attack.
According to Oleksandr Vilkul, four other “purely civilian targets” were also hit in Kryvyi Rih. Three Russian robots are said to have been shot down by the Ukrainian air defense.
Early Wednesday morning, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who himself is from Kryvyi Rih, posted a video taken at the burning five-story building:
