six candidates speak out on Europe during the “Grand Oral”

In total, six French presidential candidates spent their great oral on Monday evening March 28 with our colleagues from Europe 1, from JDDand of Paris Match. In particular, there was a lot of talk about France’s place in Europe, with the candidates being invited to comment on the country’s sovereignty in different areas.

Unsurprisingly, Éric Zemmour and Marine Le Pen want less Europe. The Reconquest candidate! explains, once again, that there can be no European sovereignty, because there is no European people, according to him.

Marine Le Penif she no longer wants to leave the EU, opposes on the other hand a defense, a European army, because France and Germany do not have, she says, the same needs.

The communist Fabien Roussel also has a clear opinion on Europe which should not ” prevent us from deciding our laws », and this in all sovereign domains.

Socialist Anne Hidalgo, credited with 2% of voting intentions, emphasizes agriculture and wants agricultural production more oriented towards the French.

The Republican Valérie Pécresse calls for a shock of ” debureaucratization »: a simplification of European standards.

Finally, the ecologist Yannick Jadot is by far the one who shows his attachment to Europe the most. He proposes a major European project that would establish a single buyer for gas and oil in order to ensure the Union’s energy security.
