Six arrested with drugs stolen property weapons

Drugs, stolen property and real and replica firearms were seized last week in Paris after an investigation by Brant County OPP.

Police said the OPP Community Street Crimes Unit was joined by OPP officers from the Tactics and Rescue unit, emergency response unit, canine unit, and OPP West Region in what began in April as a stolen property investigation.

On May 27, the police teams executed six search warrants at a home on Broadway Street and seized $22,000 in stolen property but also gathered up illegal drugs, a cross-bow, sawed-off .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle, and seven replica handguns .

Three men and three women – all from Brant County but for one who is from Oxford – were charged with a variety of crimes including possession of methamphetamine and cocaine for trafficking, possession of property over $5,000 that’s been obtained by crime and various firearm offences.

The group charged ranges in age from 27 to 40 and will appear in Ontario Court in Brantford later.
