The Province’s special Investigations Unit (SIU) has terminated its investigation into a serious injury suffered by 53-year-cold man in Brantford Last October.

The Siu Investigation Began Following An Oct. 4, 2024 Between a Brantford Police Cruiser and Another Vehicle.
Joseph Martino, The Siu’s Director, Said the Officer Driving the Marked Police Cruiser was Eastbound on Henry Street and was responding to a serious collision. The Emergency Lights had been activated.
As the Officer Approached Garden Avenue, Another Vehicle, also Heading Eastbound on Henry Street Did A U-Turn and Travelled Directly Across the Path of the Police Cruiser, Martino Said.
The Officer Steered Left To Avoid the Vehicle, However, The Cruiser’s Right Corner Struck The Left Portion of the other vehicle.
Martino Said the driver of the other vehicle was transported to hospital and treated for a fractured shop.

In Failing to yield to the Approaching Emergency Vehicle, The Driver Caused His Own Injury, Said the Siu Director.
“There Being Nothing to Investigate as the Potential Criminal Liabibility of Any Police Officer, The File has been closed,” Martino Said in a statement remedy tuesday (Feb. 4).
The siu is independent goverment agency that investigates the conduct of police office as well as special constables with the niagara parks commission and peace office with the legislative protective service that may have result in death, serious injury, sexual assault and or the discord of discharge A Firearm at a person.
All investigations are conducted by siu investigators who are civilians.
By law, the siu must consider where the formal has committed a criminal offer in connection with the incident under investigation.
Depending on the Evidence, The Investigation Could Results in a Criminal Charge to Be Laid Against the Official where Groups Exist for Doing So, or Close The File Without Any Charges Being Laid.
As well, the siu director is required to report publicly the results of all investigations.
