(Finance) – Siteb, the Italian Streets Association and Bituli, represented the entire road supply chain at Fourth Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety, held these days in Marrakech, Morocco. The event constitutes the main world appointment dedicated to road safety and saw the participation of about 2,500 delegates from 198 countries involved. The conference was organized by the Kingdom of Morocco, by the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, by the Narsa (National Road Safety Agency /Agence Nationale de la Sécuritè Routièr), together with the World Health Organization (Who), in partnership with the United Nations.
During the event Siteb previewed a manual extract “Road safety: the adherence of the flooring”, Made by a Task Force Siteb of experts in the sector that analyzes the mechanisms that determine adherence on the road, the most advanced methodologies for its measurement and the best practices for the design and maintenance of road flooring. In particular, the document places emphasis on the conditions of wet asphalt, where the risk of dangerous phenomena such as aquaplang increases drastically, compromising users’ safety.
The issue of security has always been the center of the attention of road operators. According to an Siteb survey some time ago, the possibility of remaining victim of an accident, in fact, remains among the dangers most feared by the population (71% of the champion of the study you have): after the fear of suffering a theft at home ( expressed by 77% of the respondents) and before other concerns such as snatch, robbery and harassment/aggressions.

During the international appointment, an international exhibition with stands and pavilions curated by organizations, institutions, public and private companies, stakeholders in the sector, NGO and media, thus offering an additional space of interaction and comparison was also set up. Siteb was part of the Italian delegation present in Marrakech, which saw the wide participation of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. The association represented the entire street chain and was present at the space organized by Anas and Piac Italia, together with AIScat, Traffic Police, State Police and Polytechnic of Milan and Fred Engineering.
