It was last Tuesday that a landlord in Luleå called the police and raised the alarm.

In an apartment, the landlord had found two dead women.

– It is unclear what happened, but they seem to have been there for quite some time, says the operator at the police command center.

A landlord from the municipal housing company Lulebo made a macabre discovery on Tuesday.

After complaints from other residents, the landlord checked what it was that smelled in the property.

It turned out to be two women lying dead in one of the women’s apartments.

Mystery

The women, whose identities have not yet been fully established, are believed to have been deceased for some time. However, everything indicates that it is two women aged 50 to 55 who are related to each other.

They should not have any other close relatives, according to the police.

According to NSD, which spoke to several residents of the property, it is supposed to be two sisters who were found dead.

Many circumstances surrounding the deaths are still unclear.

– The cause of death for these two women is still unclear and that is why a forensic examination must be carried out to find out, said Marie Andersson, the police spokesperson in the northern region to Aftonbladet on Wednesday.

No suspect

The police have started a preliminary investigation regarding causing the death of another. Above all, to be able to gain access to various means of coercion.

There are no suspects in the case.

Forensic technicians have been on the scene and carried out a technical investigation.

The apartment is still cordoned off.
