Four people were taken to hospital with serious injuries after a car and a bus collided head-on south of Hudiksvall on Thursday evening.
On Friday, the police confirmed that two women in their 20s and 30s died from their injuries.
According to Sundsvall’s newspaper, the two women are sisters. Their parents are now being treated for life-threatening injuries.
– It is difficult to understand what happened. It feels unreal, says a close relative to the newspaper.
Bus company Mohlin’s area manager Peter Wikman says it has been a tough day.
– It is a very tragic accident. This is the worst that can happen, he says.
How is the driver?
– Our driver has coped well physically, but it is the mental part that is the most difficult. I met him this morning. We have offered telephone assistance, says Peter Wikman.
The accident occurred on a diversion road when the E4 was closed due to paving work. The bus company does not know what caused the collision.
– We don’t really know much. We have to wait for the police investigation. I only know what I myself read in the newspaper. But no one is accused of anything criminal yet, says Peter Wikman.
