The eighteenth round of the season promises to be a spectacle on the Singapore street circuit where several drivers can consider victory this Sunday.
Verstappen, Russell, Hamilton, Piastri, Norris, Leclerc… Six different winners in the last eight races, it’s been a long time since Formula 1 was so indecisive. No one will complain and every weekend the dice are rolled again. A week after Oscar Piastri’s victory in Baku, Azerbaijan, the drivers have a date in Singapore to take part in the 18th Grand Prix of the season. On a circuit designed in the city, and contested at night, the slightest mistake can be fatal, which does not fail to add spice to this meeting on the calendar since 2008.
Still leading the world championship, with a 59-point lead over Lando Norris and 78 over Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen, who has not won for three months, would like to get back on track before a final four-week break. But the triple world champion’s Red Bull has lost its shine and no longer seems really able to keep up with the pace of McLaren, and sometimes even that of Ferrari or even Mercedes. To find out what surprises the Singapore Grand Prix still has in store for us, you’ll have to turn on your TV or tablet from 2 p.m. It will then be six hours later in the island state (8 p.m.), and night will have already fallen for a while on the Marina Bay circuit ready to ignite.
