With more than 2,000 bombs and more than 500 strikes on Syria in one week, the Israeli army has destroyed 80% of the arsenal of Bashar al-Assad’s forces, according to the Times of Israel.
The Jewish state refuses to be accused of any attempt to destabilize the new Syrian power. “ We do not intend to administer Syria “, defended the Israeli chief of staff this Saturday, affirming that his army only intervenes ” to ensure the safety of its fellow citizens », including 25,000 colonizing part of the Golan Heights, in southern Syria.

Preventive measures and ground occupation
Israel wants to ensure that no weapons – conventional or chemical – fall into yet unknown hands and are used against it. Preventive measures, which since the day after the fall of the Syrian dictator, have been coupled with a ground occupation of the demilitarized buffer zone of the Golan Heights, annexed by Israel, then of Mount Hermon, a strategic observation position on Syria.
For their part, Arab countries, such as Qatar, see it as an attempt by the Jewish state to take advantage of the situation to occupy new Syrian territories.
