Simon Näslund’s solo song floors the Idol Jury: “Best in Sweden”

He doesn’t have to wait for word once during Idol’s final audition.
Simon Näslund is told that he moves on immediately after each stage.
– When it comes to musical talent, Simon is at the absolute highest level, says the jury’s Alexander Kronlund.

In the duet moment during the final audition, Love Strandberg, 26, and Simon Näslund, 23, received the highest marks. The duo sang “When You Believe” by Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston and went straight to the next stage.

In the last moment during the final audition, the participants are faced with the solo song, and Simon Näslund does that with gusto when he sings “I den stora sorgens famn” by Ted Gärdestad.

– The best in Sweden, that is, of everyone there is, states Alexander Kronlund during Simon’s solo song.

“This is what we call a no-brainer”

So even in this moment, he does something that is rare among the participants – he gets his announcement right after the solo song and moves on to the qualifying week.

– This is what we call a no-brainer, this is what we are looking for. You’re through to the qualifier right away, you don’t have to wait for anything at all. It’s only obvious, we love you and you’re absolutely fantastic, says Kishti Tomita.

– It feels completely sick, I don’t quite understand that this is happening, says an overjoyed and shocked Simon.
