Silje Opseth had an ominous fall in the test round

Silje Opseth was not afraid, even though she fell on the Vikersund airstrip during the test round. He jumped the ME readings in the actual race, but came second in the race.

In Norwegian Silje at Opseth it was a rollercoaster of emotions at the Vikersund airport on Sunday. In the test round, he jumped a great jump that carried 236.5 meters, but he crashed this jump in bad luck. Opseth was not startled by this, but just climbed back to the jump tower less than an hour later with his face covered in blood.

In the first round Opseth jumped 203 meters, but in the second round he was shaken. Her jump carried no less than 230.5 meters, which is a new length record for women’s ski jumping. The previous record was held by Ema Klinec, as she jumped 226 meters last year.

– Perhana. This has been quite a morning. What a rollercoaster! But it’s been crazy fun. I have no words for this, Opseth said, wiping away tears for NRK.

– I decided that I was going to jump right away after I fell in the test round. When I jump on a big hill, I don’t feel any fear. The fact that I was able to make such a jump, I’m actually quite proud of it.

Opseth got cuts on his face from the fall, but he said he was otherwise fine.

However, Opseth’s jumps were not successful until the victory, because the first place of the day was from Norway Eirin Maria Kvnadal. Kvandal’s jumps carried 202 and 212 meters, but he jumped both in the first round and in the second from a platform lower than Opseth.

– I don’t know if there are any pictures of it, but I shouted up in the hill tower. It was a really long jump, Kvandal praised his teammate’s ME jump.

Halvor Egner Granerud, a member of the Norwegian men’s hill team, was on the bus on his way to the hill when Opseth crashed. He saw the jump moments later.

– It looked really sick, Granerud told NRK and said that the first part of the jump looked amazing.

– I believe that every jumper was very impressed by it. He showed he has guts. I am very impressed.

Jenny Rautionaho was last in the competition of 17 women. His jumps carried 155 meters and 175 meters.
