(Finance) – Tomorrow, at the Rimini Fairwe inaugurate the 46th edition of SIGEP World – The World Expo for Foodservice Excellence, an international reference event for i ice cream, pastry, chocolate, coffee, bread making and pizza sectors, organized by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG).
The inaugural ceremony, scheduled for Saturday 18 January at 11.30 am at the Vision Plaza – South Hallwill see the participation of the Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida, the President of IEG Maurizio Ermeti, the Mayor of Rimini Jamil Sadegholvaad, the Councilor for Tourism of Emilia-Romagna Roberta Frisoni and the President of FIPE Lino Stoppani.
With 138,000 square meters of exhibition space, 30 pavilions and 1,300 brands present, SIGEP World represents an unmissable event for operators in the sector. The 2025 edition consolidates its international character with over 3,000 foreign buyers and the participation of Saudi Arabia as a country partner, strengthening the strategic role of the event for hospitality and out-of-home.
Among the new features this year, SIGEP Vision becomes a privileged observation point for new foodservice trends thanks to collaborations with prestigious research companies. The Sustainability District promotes sustainable practices in the coffee and cocoa supply chains, while the Taste of Tomorrow project celebrates innovation in ice cream, defining the new frontiers of ice cream making.
A highlight will be the Lorenzo Cagnoni Award, which will reward the most innovative start-ups in categories Digital Innovation, Sustainability and Packagingrecognizing the contribution of companies that drive change with creative and sustainable solutions.
SIGEP World 2025 will host 40 international events with over 60 speakers, and thanks to its exclusive programs (Top Buyer Program and European Premium Program) it will attract more than 3,000 buyers from 79 countries, including the United States, India, Brazil, Turkey, Spain, Germany and France.
The artisanal ice cream sector recorded growth at a European level in 2024, reaching a market value of 11 billion euros. Pastry also shows an increase, driven by leavened products such as panettone (+7-10%). Pizza and bread confirm themselves as protagonists of the Italian table, with a growing demand for healthy products. Italian coffee shines on international markets, with exports of 2.3 billion euros and particular success for coffee machines, which represent 75% of the sector’s turnover.
