(Tiper Stock Exchange) – The five days of Sigep 2023 in Rimini close today, 25 January 2023, a long-awaited appointment with the art of artisan gelato and pastry and bakery, chocolate and coffee. An event, organized by Italian Exhibition Groupwhich after the pandemic, resumes its race to make Made in Italy known in the world.

At Sigep, Finance interviewed Flavia MorelliGroup exhibition manager of Italia Exhibition Group, who told us how the event went and what’s new this year.

“We are here in Rimini at 44th edition of Sigep, the International Exhibition dedicated to the artisanal art of ice cream, pastry, coffee and bread-making”, begins Morelli, recalling that the event “is organized by the Italian Exhibition Group, which is the leader in many sectors and also in the food sector & beverage and, above all, the food service channel”.

“Here, these days, we have over 1,000 exhibitors, 85% of which are Italian, which present the best offer Italian artisan dessert and are attentive to present the news to a parterre of tens of thousands of buyers who are attending the fair in these five days, explains the manager of IEG, adding “international buyers have returnednot only from European countries, but also from overseas markets”.

“An event that come back in January, in the correct location for the market of this industry – continues the manager – to present the novelties of the 2023 season for the whole world of ice cream makers, pastry chefs and bakers. Here we have distributors, importers and public establishments who come to visit us”.

“Together with the companies we have also organized a very rich program of events, which is made up of demos, talks and competitionswhich are an extraordinary opportunity for growth for professional operators, because they prepare themselves in the previous months”, underlines Morelli, recalling “here we hosted and organized, in collaboration with the associations, the european competition of artisanal ice creamthe women’s pastry worldthe junior pastry world championship. because we have a very important focus on the new generations, here at Sigep we want to launch every year an opportunity for the new generations who want to embrace this beautiful artisanal sector”.

And it is precisely at the Gelato Europe Cup that Italy has triumphed in recent days. The tricolor team composed by David Maliciousmanagers, Vincent Donnarummapastry chef, and Rosary Nicodemusgelato maker, thus ensures participation in the tenth edition of the Gelato World Cup, which will be held at SIGEP in 2024, and which will see the participation of the teams selected from the Latin American Cup, held in Buenos Aires in June 2022, and the Gelato Asia Cup , which was held in October 2022 in Singapore.
