Call about man acting erratic leads to arrest

A 27-year-old Shrewsbury woman, known to Chatham-Kent police, was taken into custody when it was learned she was wanted on outstanding warrants.

A 27-year-old Shrewsbury woman, known to Chatham-Kent police, was taken into custody when it was learned she was wanted on outstanding warrants.

Police said she was spotted on Wednesday afternoon and a check revealed she was wanted for failing to attend court and impaired driving.

While being arrested, police said the accused was allegedly found with a small amount of crack cocaine, resulting in a drug possession charge.

The woman was taken into custody pending a bail hearing, police said.

Chatham-Kent police are seeking the public’s help in locating the owner of a Wallenstein wood splitter.

Police are requesting anyone with information or attempting to claim the wood splitter provide proof of purchase or detailed information regarding ownership.
