JURASSIC WORLD. Released this Wednesday, June 8, 2022, “Jurassic World: The World After” is the latest installment in the franchise launched in 2005. What are the critical opinions?

This new episode brings an end to the franchise carried by Chris Pratt and launched by Colin Trevorrow in 2015. For the occasion, the protagonists of Jurassic Park (Sam Neil, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern) are back while humanity must learn to live with dinosaurs. thes French critics are very mixed on the quality of this final episode. This last episode plays the card of nostalgia, since, according to cinema teaser“despite some beautiful images and an interesting theme, Le Monde d’après awkwardly replays mythical scenes from the first part”.

The critics positive reviews that can be read about Jurassic World 3 salute the entertainment offered. Télé Loisirs finds this conclusion “visually striking, mixing spectacle, science, humor, thrill and emotion”, while The Parisian welcomes the work done on dinosaurs. For Le Figaro finally, “this sixth feature film knows how to stay in its place. It is content to be spectacular entertainment without any other philosophical pretension”.

The negative reviews point to the writing of the feature film. “The new Jurassic World is weighed down by its mechanical fan service and weak writing”, lapidates Firstwhile Point is also sharp when he calls the film “sadly mediocre”. Colin Trevorrow signs the third part of the Jurassic World saga. It is also the last installment of this trilogy, since no sequel has been announced. By summoning the protagonists of the first part of Jurassic Park, it is also an end point which seems to be looming for the saga featuring the dinosaurs. Speaking to The Today Show in May 2022, Chris Pratt confirmed that Jurassic World: The World “is definitely the end of this franchise. I really think it is anyway.”

Omar Sy made an appearance in the first installment of the Jurassic World franchise in 2015, as a velociraptor trainer. The French public had however been surprised by its absence in the second opus. What about the third film in the saga? Fans of the French actor can be reassured, Omar Sy is back in Jurassic World 3 in the role of Barry Sembène.
