Should go and buy ice cream

Negotiations between SAS and the pilots are still stalled.

On Friday, the parties did not even talk to each other.

– They may be negotiating with themselves, I do not know, says the pilot association’s chairman Roger Klokset.

On Friday, negotiations between SAS and the pilot union entered its eleventh day. Thursday’s talks did not reach a solution, nor during the day have the parties been able to agree.

– The latest is that we have used the day to wait for SAS, so now I will go and buy ice cream, says the pilot association’s chairman Roger Klokset when he met the media in the afternoon.

According to him, the parties have not been able to meet at all.

– There has been no contact between the parties today.

“Not effective”

He accuses SAS of not showing up for the negotiations without announcing why.

– You can ask SAS about that. Maybe they’ve negotiating with themselves, I do not know, he says.

On Thursday, SAS announced that the company would lose more than SEK 100 million a day during the strike. To date, more than 270,000 passengers have been affected and more than 2,500 flights have been canceled.

Roger Klokset believes that the conversations must be more efficient.

– When there is no contact between the parties, it is not effective in any case, he says.

Do you think you can do it today?

– I do not know.

SAS: “Must meet in the middle”

Ahead of today’s negotiations, SAS’s chief negotiator Marianne Hernaes said that continued negotiations are important in order to attract new investors to the company.

– We must find a model where we meet in the middle and who can ensure that we get the income we depend on, she said according to TT.
