A gate was fired at at Hisingen in Gothenburg on Wednesday evening, the police state on their website.
No one has been injured and no one has been arrested. The alarm came just before 11 p.m.
The police are knocking on doors in the area and are to carry out a crime scene investigation during the night. A preliminary investigation into serious weapons offenses and serious illegal threats has been launched.
