Staff shortages in childcare cause problems in implementation, but it also affects shortages in other sectors. Because sometimes parents cannot (yet) work, or work fewer hours than they would like, because there is not enough childcare available. Just last week, the trade union FNV and the Foundation for Working Parents (SVWO) sounded the alarm about the state of childcare. They see the quality of the reception and the acute shortage of staff as a major problem.
