These are tough times for trade, but Skåne has an advantage right now. All around Malmö you can hear Danes eager to buy, as the Swedish krona in comparison is at a record low.
– That’s what attracted me and my friend, and we were free, so we thought “why not”, says Marlene Micke, who is visiting on the other side of the strait.
Another thing that can contribute is that the sale is underway. And soon a campaign will be launched to remind the Danes that there is a double sale in Sweden.
Today, for every Danish kroner that is exchanged, you get approximately 150 Swedish kronor. The Danish krone is strong because, among other things, it is tied to the euro. And it has basically never been this cheap for the Danes in Sweden before.
