An unknown perpetrator shot a man indoors in a home in Tullinge, southwest of Stockholm, around midnight, on the night of Friday.

Ambulance helicopter

SOS Alarm received an alarm at 00.11 about a man with gunshot wounds who was inside a residence in Tullinge, according to Towe Hägg, press spokesperson at the police in Stockholm.

– The man was taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter. Our patrol on site assessed the injuries as life-threatening, but I cannot confirm that at this time. He received immediate treatment, she says.

The man had received gunshot wounds to the upper body and was quickly taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter. No one else in the home was physically injured.

No arrests yet

The police are looking for the perpetrator(s) who carried out the shooting. At 2:00 a.m., still no one had been arrested.

In that search, both uniformed and plainclothes police, as well as a helicopter and dog patrol, are used, among other things. The national task force is also on site.

– We have cordoned off the site so that our technicians can search and secure traces. We work with door knocking, we talk to witnesses, check people on site and use dog patrol, says Towe Hägg.

Wooded area

According to information to SVT, the police have also cordoned off a wooded area near a preschool, some distance from the center of Tullinge, in order to conduct searches.

Is there any indication that the act is connected to other shootings, last night or earlier?

– It is too early to say anything about whether it has or not. First, we have to collect information to be able to make an assessment, says Towe Hägg.

– We will of course hear the gunshot wounded man if possible, but first he must receive treatment.

The police have opened a preliminary investigation into attempted murder.
