After a large police operation last Friday evening, two men were found injured at a playground in Solna.

But two shots also went straight into an apartment where a family with children lives.

– It was just lucky that no one was injured when it happened, says the father of the family.

At 22:00 on Friday evening, the police received a call about an ongoing shooting in Solna, north of Stockholm.

At the scene, the police found a man in his 20s with a gunshot wound in a playground. Shortly afterwards, it was announced that another man had been found shot in a nearby residential area. The police suspect that the two injured men are connected to the same shooting. During the night, the police worked to identify exactly where the shooting took place.

Shots also went straight into an apartment where a family with children was at home.

– I was sitting in my office when I heard a loud bang and plaster fell from the ceiling, says the father of the family.

At first he thought the bangs came from a group that had had a party on the grass outside the apartment.

– When I went into the living room, I saw a bullet hole straight through the window and into the apartment, says the man.

Bullet found in box

The police were quickly in the area with several patrols, but it took until the morning before technicians could find the bullets in the apartment. A bullet was found between a window and a bullet was found in a box in a room used as an office.

Police spokesperson Towe Hägg says he has no information that any shots will hit an apartment. The police continue during the day to collect information that can take the investigation forward and the incident is being investigated as attempted murder.

– We have not detained anyone. We are trying to map the sequence of events, says Towe Hägg.

No one in the family has been injured in connection with the night’s shooting and they have been offered crisis support by the police.

– I was up and walking with my child just a short time before, so it was just lucky that no one was injured when it happened, says the father.

For the family, Friday’s shocking event has become an eye-opener.

– We are very shocked that it has happened in this area, it is calm with many families with children, but now I don’t know how to think. If this is going to happen more and more now, you might have to think about moving.
