The call for shots fired came in on Wednesday afternoon.
– Shots have been fired at a residential building and there were people in the residence, but at the moment there is no information that anyone has been physically injured, says Stockholm police spokesperson Nadya Norton.
Several police patrols are on site and a police helicopter is circling the area. The effort is underway in Västergård in Södertälje, near the Saltskog area.
– We are looking for the person or people who did it, but we are also working with trace protection and gathering as much information as we can, says Nadya Norton.
A preliminary investigation into attempted murder and serious weapons crime has been initiated.
