Marcus Nybakken, 46, thought there was a fight going on at the London Pub.
When he got to the gay bar, he realized that it was much worse.
– War zone, is the best I can say. I have never experienced anything like this, he says VG.
Two people were shot dead outside the gay bar London Pub in central Oslo last night. 19 were injured during the shooting and shortly afterwards a perpetrator was arrested. Marcus Nybakken, 46, was near the bar.
– Because of the music, I only heard a lot of screams and people coming in, I thought it was a fight, so I pulled out, he says to Norwegian VG.
Marcus Nybakken tells the newspaper that he had several friends on site in the London Pub and that he quickly went there to see what had happened.
– War zone, is the best I can say. Never experienced anything like this. It’s just damn good, he says about what he saw on the spot.
“Several were collapsing”
Christian Bredeli was inside the London Pub when he heard that something had happened at the gay bar.
– The guard came to us, told us that something had happened and that we had to go with him. He escorted us to the back of the London Pub, he tells VG after the act.
Together with several others, Christian Bredeli remained hidden on the fourth floor.
– There were several who were terrified, several who were about to collapse, he says.
After a while, he got a call from his little brother who told him that it was safe to arrive from his hiding place.
– On the way out we saw several injured people. We understood that something serious had happened, he says.
