A shooting left two dead and four injured in the 14th arrondissement of Marseille on Saturday September 28, late in the evening.

Saturday September 28, around 11 p.m., a shooting left two people dead in the 14th arrondissement of Marseille, in the city of Iris, reported BFMTV Marseille Provence. The events occurred in an association premises, transformed into a hookah bar, according to a police source. Four people were injured, adds Provence.

The six victims are men aged between 25 and 40 and were found riddled with bullets. Two people were in cardiorespiratory arrest when firefighters arrived. They died on the spot. Three injured people were taken to hospital. Two of them were treated in absolute emergency, one of whom was in critical condition. The victims were hit in the chest, legs and neck. A fourth injured person presented himself to the emergency room, according to Provence.

Investigation into attempted assassination open

The victims were hit by projectiles of caliber 7.62 mm (Kalashnikov) and 9 millimeters, according to BFMTV. The motive for the shooting is currently unknown. We therefore do not know if the victims were specifically targeted or if they were victims of indiscriminate shooting, details Provence. The police also found a burned vehicle in the 14th arrondissement.
