At 22.30 on Sunday evening, several reports of gunfire were received at Mälartorget in Köping.
When the police arrived at the scene, no one was found injured, but police patrols searched the area and interviewed witnesses.
– We have not found anyone injured or a suspect in the shooting, but witness information allows us to establish that a shooting has occurred, says Patrik Wallblom, commander at police region Mitt.
The police have started a preliminary investigation into serious weapons offenses and serious illegal threats.
