At half past seven in the evening, the police in Copenhagen were alerted to Christiania in the central parts of the city after calls about shooting. An ambulance also went to the scene.
On X, the Copenhagen police write that several people were injured.
“In connection with the situation in Christiania, we can confirm that several people have been hit by shots,” the police state.
The police do not say exactly how many are injured.
– We are working intensively out there right now. We are in the middle of a major police operation, where we have to create an overview of what happened, says police officer Martin Kajberg to the Ritzau news agency.
The extent of the damage is unclear.
The police state that the shooting took place in connection with Stjerneskibet. A large area has been cordoned off and the police are working on the scene.
