After more than a day close together, Claes Blixt and Dennis Oscarsson can now title themselves world record holders in handshakes, writes Borås Tidning.
On Sunday afternoon, both men were finally able to let go of each other after sitting together for 25 hours.
– Fantastically nice. But it hurts – just everywhere, they tell BT.
Five minutes every hour, Blixt and Oscarsson had to take a break to eat and go to the toilet, all according to the Guinness Book of Records rules.
– We had periods when we hesitated and wondered how it would go, but we did it anyway, actually, says Claes Blixt.
In addition to a world record, the handshakes also raised some money. According to BT, several companies had promised to donate one or two öre per handshake, something that will cost them at least SEK 2,500 each.
Claes Blixt is already involved in two schools in Kenya and has raised money for them through two previous world records (the world’s largest butter knife and the world’s largest deck of cards).
