Shocking Fear The Walking Dead scene pushed everyone involved to

Fear the Walking Dead has just launched its 8th season on Amazon Prime* and not only picks up the pace with a huge time jump, but also with borderline torture scenes.

Gruesome kid experiments: This Fear the Walking Dead scene was almost too much for the stars

After Dwight (Austin Amelio) crossed over from The Walking Dead to the spin-off series Fear the Walking, he was finally reunited with Sherry (Christine Evangelista). The 7-year time jump estranged the two again and made them cogs in the machinery of the child-collecting organization PADRE to put their son Finch (Gavin Warren) under their protection. Episode 2 of Fear the Walking Dead Season 8, Blue Jay, reunited the couple with June (Jenna Elfman). However, they also learned from her that the doctor for PADRE (unsuccessful so far) conducted radiation experiments that slow down zombie transformation or even stop.

Their escape together was thwarted by villain Shrike (Maya Eshet) at the end of the episode, who not only cut off June’s index finger, but her as well zombie head a deceased ally as a torture tool on a swivel arm used to Biting Dwight and Sherry’s son Finch. She wanted to “motivate” the three rebels to work together again, to devote themselves entirely to drug research.

Instead of the usual last-minute rescues or those that often take place off-screen violence against childrenFear the Walking Dead let the brutal scene down in all smacking slowness unfold without the pleading, bound parents being able to intervene. Whether or how long the unconscious 7-year-old Finch will survive the bite is questionable afterwards.

Fear the Walking Dead shoot is particularly hard on Sherry in Season 8

Sherry actress Christine Evangelista tweeted her reaction to the enactment of that difficult Fear the Walking Dead scene in Episode 2, in which she played the distressed mother of the tortured Finch:

My legs gave out and I collapsed from exhaustionafter we shot that scene. A few crew members ran in after seeing our shattering screams had heard. It was one of the hardest scenes I’ve ever worked on.
