KuPS, which plays in the Football Veikkausliiga, has released its head coach Pasi Tuut coaching responsibility. A new head coach has been appointed Jani Honkavaara.
Tuutti started as head coach of KuPS in January, when Simo Valakari left KuPI. Tuuti’s dismissals came immediately after three matches, of which KuPS, who were expected to be one of the top teams in the series, lost two and drew one. The draw came with KTP, the league winner, KuPS has experienced losses to Honga and Inter.
Tuutti, who was born in Kuopio, worked in KuPS’s coaching team from the 2020 season. For Tuuti, who went through the KuPS junior track, becoming the head coach was a dream come true.
– Ever since I started this coaching career as a young man, it has been one endpoint, Tuutti said in January.
Jani Honkavaara was the head coach of KuPS in 2017–2019. KuPS celebrated the championship under the leadership of Honkavaara in 2019.
After KuPS, Honkavaara coached SJK in 2020–2021. Since then, he has worked at Palloliito as an expert in the top and youth stages.
