Microsoft is removing WordPad from Windows after nearly 30 years.

In a support note released by the software giant, “WordPad is no longer updated and will be removed in a future version of Windows. We recommend Microsoft Word for rich-text documents such as .doc and .rtf, and Windows Notepad for plain-text documents such as .txt. ” statement was included.
It is estimated that Microsoft will remove WordPad, which it says it will completely remove in a “future version of Windows”, in the version of Windows 12 with many artificial intelligence-supported features that we expect to see in 2024.
