Skellefteå’s Oscar Möller was on sick leave due to exhaustion syndrome all of last season.
Now the former team captain announces that his career is over.
Today publish Oscar Moller that he ends his hockey career.
“As many have surely understood, I will not play hockey anymore,” writes the 35-year-old in an open letter on Skellefteå’s website.
Möller’s resignation
The Stockholm native thanks everyone who has supported him along the way.
“When hockey was the last thing I wanted to think about, my teammates were great friends who made me never feel alone in how I felt. Today I feel much better and am on the ice sometimes coaching my oldest son’s hockey team. It took time to get here and I needed distance, but now I feel the joy of the sport again,” writes Möller.

The forward, with Spånga IS as his parent club, went to North America as a teenager and represented the Los Angeles Kings for three NHL seasons before coming to Skellefteå in 2011. There it was a total of ten seasons for Möller, who ends his letter with a greeting to all young sportsmen :
“Don’t be too hard on yourself, have fun doing your best. Not all matches can be perfect.”
Two SM golds
Oscar Möller’s track record includes two WC golds with Skellefteå and a WC bronze with Tre Kronor.

Skellefteå writes in his thanks to Möller that he is forever a black and yellow hero:
“You led the team by spreading joy, working hard every day and being an exemplary teammate.”
