Shirtless man running down street with bat charged by Six Nations Police

A 32-year-old Hagersville man has been charged after Six Nations Police received complaints about a shirtless person running around with a baseball bat on Ojibway Road.

On Jan. 12 at about 5:45 am, police received several complaints about a screaming man running on the road and approaching residences.

Police went to the area and, using a dog for tracking through heavy fog, found a baseball bat on the road. The man then tried to get into the police cruiser with an officer inside, police said. A struggle ensued and the police service dog was deployed after police say the accused ignored their commands.

Police say the accused continued to be combative and kicked the dog.

The man is facing charges of causing disturbance, and assault with intent to resist arrest.

Ohsweken man faces charges of breaking and entering

An Ohsweken man accused of breaking into homes is facing several charges.

On Jan. 12 at about 10:15 pm, Six Nations Police say they received several complaints from residents along Fourth Line Road and Bicentennial Trail about a suspicious man in the area.

Police located a man matching the description after following footprints in the fresh snow. Police say the suspect showed signs of impairment.

A 26-year-old man is charged with two counts of breaking and entering with intent, two counts of trespassing at night, and fail to comply with release order.
