The container ship that collided with a giant bridge in Baltimore in the US lost power twice shortly before the collision, according to a preliminary federal report published on Tuesday.

The report is the first detailed review of the events of March 26 that led up to the disaster in which six construction workers died.

The cargo ship Dali was chartered by the Danish shipping giant Mærsk for a scheduled voyage from Baltimore to Sri Lanka.
