“This lady has been inside for two weeks,” says Jan, pointing to one of the two sheep. “She was almost written off. She didn’t eat, didn’t walk, her whole head was clogged. She had such a swollen head,” says Jan, using his hands to demonstrate what the situation was like before. The shepherd walks to the second sheep, which has been lying in a corner of the pen until now. He hoists her up onto her legs. According to Jan, that’s important. “They have to keep moving. Otherwise everything gets pinched.”
