Oscar winner Kate Winslet has not only demonstrated great variety of roles over the years, but is apparently also one Multi -talent. So she said last year in the How To Fail Podcast (via Thr): “So many people tell me about film sets, people I work with and whom I know well, be it an actor or a crew member: ‘Why don’t you direct?'” An idea with which the actress world -famous by Titanic could not really make friends at first.
Then a lot has changed and now Winslet is on the tuning To make your first own film for Netflix. And the cast is impressive.
Kate Winslet directs the Netflix film with Toni Collette and Helen Mirren
As the Hollywood reporter reports, Winslet’s directorial debut is wearing the preliminary title Goodbye June. Only so much is known about the content that it should be a humorous and soulful drama in today’s England, in which several estranged siblings have to pull together after being catapulted into a new situation. The filming should start soon.
Not only can the high karat be seen behind the camera, there are also some already confirmed stars in front of the camera. Above all, Toni Collette (Hereditary) and Helen Mirren (Die Queen) as well as Johnny Flynn, Andrea Riseborough and Timothy Spall.
She explained that Kate Winslet, who was most recently seen in the HBO series The Regime, was still spoiled to go into the male-dominated world of the direction, in the Podcast in question:
The more I don’t do it now, given the need to change culture, the more I have the feeling that I let other women down by not doing it. I really start to feel that in a rather urgent way. The more of us do it, the more we inspire others to do it too.
It probably didn’t harm her son Joe Anders contributed the script to be staged.
