Ali Yavuz Çeçen, a 46-year-old tradesman living in the Turhal district of Tokat, had ignored the swelling he had been experiencing for a long time, thinking that he had gained weight. However, because this swelling did not go away in time and he had problems in his daily life, he consulted a doctor. Chechen, who was examined at the hospital, was found to have a mass in his abdomen. After the interventions, 4 pieces of mass weighing approximately 13 kilograms were removed from the Chechen’s stomach.
THE SIZE OF THE MASS WAS SURPRISED
In the operation, which lasted about 3 hours, a mass of 13 kilograms was removed from the Chechen’s abdomen in 4 pieces. The size of the mass surprised both the patient and the doctors. After a few days of treatment in the intensive care unit, Çeçen regained his health and was taken to the inpatient service.
HE WAS IN HIS BELI FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS
Chechen, who regained his health, said that he was relieved by getting rid of the mass that had been growing in his stomach for about 2 years. Çeçen thought that he thought he had gained weight and applied to the hospital because of the bloating in his stomach. We got rid of our weight, we became weaker,” he said.
ENTIRE MASS REMOVED
prof. Dr. Namık Özkan noted that a mass of 30×30 was detected in the abdominal region in the examinations made due to the increase in the complaints of the patient who thought he had gained weight. Stating that the mass, which was determined to have developed from the adipose tissue on the posterior abdominal wall, was removed with the operation, Özkan said, “The operation took about 3 hours. It was closely related to the kidney, urinary tract and the vessels in the posterior abdominal wall. At the same time, a teacher from urology accompanied the operation. We removed the entire mass with the operation,” he said.
WAITING PATIENTS CAUSES MASS GROWTH
Stating that they do not encounter such cases very often, Özkan said, “We have had these types of masses removed before. We have had masses of 8-11 kg removed. If the patient had waited a little longer, they could have grown to a much larger size. These are constantly growing masses. We were able to clear the mass before it was too late.”
