Marit Björgen has released a new book.
Then Frida Karlsson suddenly came into focus.
– She still has a lot to learn, says the Norwegian icon.
Marit Björgen is perhaps the best cross-country skier of all time, with credentials that few – if any – can match. She is the greatest Winter Olympian of all time, and really laid the foundation for the Norwegian women’s national team, which has reaped so much success in recent years.
The fit for Frida
Since a few years ago, however, Björgen has been retired from cross-country skiing. However, she has invested further in order to run some long races – and now she is also releasing a brand new book. It’s called “Marit’s method” and is about her somewhat odd training methods to get as good as possible.
In the book, one learns, among other things, that she used ballet and, above all, mental training to become the best in the world. Yesterday, Wednesday, the book was released and an event in Oslo was arranged. Marit Björgen was there, and the whole thing was moderated by comedian Nils Ingar Aadne.
“It will be life-threatening…”
Aadne himself has had periods of extreme training during his life, and when he talked about the book, he took the opportunity to send a joking pass – to the Swedish superstar Frida Karlsson.
– It will be life-threatening if Frida Karlsson reads this book. She probably has a lot to learn here. It makes me split, says Aadne according to the Norwegian newspaper VG.
However, Marit Björgen hopes that the book can be of great help to young stars who want to improve – and she also believes that Frida Karlsson could learn something.
– I can probably come up with some tips and advice. Frida is a young skater and has a lot to learn. I hope she reads, so she can come up with a couple of points later, says Björgen about Karlsson.
