Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa is the most successful streamer on the platform platform Twitch. The 28-year-old has built an empire on social media. She pulls off an enormous amount of work every week, and last year she was on Twitch for an average of almost 11 hours a day. What motivates them to do this?
How successful is Amouranth on and around Twitch?

Haters say: When you get older everything collapses and you go broke
What motivates you? Now, in a series of Twitter posts, Amouranth explains what motivates her to rip off so many hours each day (via twitter)
She says:
A big part of my success is literally the haters telling me it’s all going to fall apart as I get older.
It has made me work harder than I could before, made me hire people who are important to moving me forward and keeping that forward trend.
All those trolls telling her she’ll be poor someday made her save every penny she makes. She puts the money into investments or into her content.
The newly created team motivates her to keep going, because now she also has “mouths to feed” and people who are dependent on her. Now she can’t just disappear for months because someone has to pay the bills.
Twitch bans its biggest streamer who licks a microphone in tight pants
Twitch streamer uses prejudice as fuel
This is behind it: Amouranth faces two typical allegations that many streamers get:
These are factual allegations, fitting the stereotype of an unwitting influencer who’s caught off guard when the tax agency comes along, or who thinks short-term hype will last forever.
In fact, we see that some streamers are well aware of their situation and not everyone stumbles into the situation completely naïvely, but reflects on themselves. Because of course, even with the greatest hype, the viewers quickly disappear at some point. And ultimately, every streamer lives in danger of losing their career due to a ban.
With Amouranth, the discrepancy between self-image and self-image is clearly visible:
Amouranth is seen by her critics as a superficial “cybergirl dumbass”. Who will look around as soon as the years catch up with her.
From her own statements, however, it is clear that she sees herself more as a lonely girl who had no friends because her parents were always moving. She took refuge in fantasy worlds and became interested in cosplay. And now the girl has become a woman who slipped into the role of an influencer but is a businesswoman at heart.
She can then use such criticism as a driver for her success:
