Oscar winner Jodie Foster had her first role in a sitcom 55 years ago
Exactly, a very small one Jodie Foster appeared in the first season of the long-running Doris Day sitcom when she was just 6 years old. More specifically, she appeared as a girl in the episode Calm Before the Storm. In this episode, Doris babysits the children of a neighbor who is about to give birth to more children. Foster played one of these children.
Known for film classics such as The Silence of the Lambs and Contact, Foster went on to star in famous series such as Gunsmoke, Bonanza and Kung Fu before she really took off as a teen star after the film Taxi Driver.

Jodie Foster recently starred in the fourth season of the crime anthology True Detective, where she played Alaska detective Liz Danvers. Her last film was the sports biopic Nyad. During the promotional tour for this film, the actress said the following about the CBC interview Burden of a child actress:
