She feels bad when she sees herself in the erotic photos she posts for the fans

The 28-year-old American Katilyn Siragusa is successful on Twitch as the streamer “Amouranth”. Part of her business model is that she constantly posts pictures of herself on Twitter and Instagram wearing scant clothes. When she compares herself to these pictures, she feels uncomfortable about it, she explains now. Because she can’t keep up with her own photos, which are “too unrealistic.”

Warning: There are two tweets embedded in the article showing Amouranth in “erotic” poses.

This is the business model “Amouranth”:

  • The 28-year-old streams a lot on Twitch: she is on the air every day for an average of 10.8 hours. In the streams, she does ASMR, nibbles on microphones, lolls in pools or writes the names of the viewers on their bodies
  • At the same time, Amouranth constantly posts photos of herself posing for the audience on Twitter and Instagram, often scantily clad and with flirtatious remarks
  • Both the free streams on Twitch and the images are advertisements for the “Onlyfans” payment platform, where paying customers see a more revealing side of Amouranth. The streamer refers to these channels in the pictures: “Check out my OnlyFans for hard action,” says a tweet from September 2nd.

Twitch is just one building block in the “Amouranth” business model

How much does she earn with this model? In an interview with the US site Kotaku, the Twitch streamer (via kotaku) explains that in an average month she earns about:

  • $1.5 million from OnlyFans
  • $100,000 from Patreon
  • $100,000 from Fansly
  • She doesn’t even list the considerable income from paid subscriptions on Twitch. According to a leak, however, the Twitch streamer was the platform’s top earner when the figures became public in October 2021.

Amouranth is adept at balancing the line between what’s allowed and what’s forbidden on Twitch. But sometimes she falls off the rope too:

Is Amouranth real or a fictional character? It is known that behind the character “Amouranth”, who loves to show herself to her viewers, there is a businesswoman who is trying to earn as much money as possible to open an animal shelter. That’s why she invests in corporations like Activision Blizzard or buys gas stations. Something that apparently doesn’t go with all the posing and lolling.

In the interview with Kotaku, the streamer is asked if she is an artificial character.

But Siragusa says she’s on the air 12 hours a day as Amouranth on Twitch. If Amouranth were an artificial character, a persona, then it would mean that she was that person more often than she was herself. Kaitlyn Siragusa doesn’t see it that way:

I’d be my fictional character more often than myself. I don’t think I really play a character that much.

But the character Amouranth overshadows the human Kaitlyn in some situations:

I often compare myself to my photos. That’s when I feel my worst. Like: ugh. My abs are really popping out in this photo and I’m on my period right now. Yes, that takes me away. But I take a deep breath and remind myself: This is just an image. That’s not realistic.

Twitch streamer actually wants to party hard, but is a frugal workaholic who hardly sleeps

What problems is Amouranth having right now? In the interview with Kotaku, it becomes clear that Amouranth cannot stick to its own philosophy of life. Because she works 20 hours a day to make money but doesn’t spend it. She sleeps the 4 hours that are left of the day.

Sleep is enough for her “to survive, not to thrive,” as she says.

She does not allow herself luxury. She has continued the lifestyle of her parents, who had to make do with a meager salary. Amouranth was the youngest of siblings and the only girl in the family:

My parents made $50,000 a year after working their jobs for 20 years. And that was with promotions and bonuses and raising 3 kids. I’m pretty used to living frugally and my mental attitude is still pretty much that way.

I feel cut off from my wealth – well, I know it’s there and I know how lucky I am. But the only weird thing I do is ordering food all the time. I drive a jeep, that’s a great car for a dog, I don’t really buy designer clothes or anything. I don’t go out and party, I don’t have fancy luxury cars.

With 20 hours of work a day, she has mutated into a workaholic.

In the interview, the streamer says:

The attitude towards life that I would like to have is actually: work hard, party hard. But I don’t live by that. It’s too lucrative to party hard right now.
