The woman in her 60s, who is the mother of a gang criminal, was found shot in an apartment at 7pm on Tuesday. According to information, the door to the apartment was ajar and a neighbor is said to have found the woman. Empty casings must have been in the stairwell.
Now a neighbor, who chooses to remain anonymous, says that he heard bangs already in the afternoon several hours before the police were alerted.
– I was dozing off and heard bang, bang, bang. I knelt up and looked out through the peephole but didn’t see anything, says the neighbor.
Didn’t think it was real – didn’t raise the alarm
Although he heard loud bangs, the neighbor did not raise the alarm. He explains that he had a hard time understanding that it was real.
– I thought at first that it wasn’t gunshots, or that I had somehow dreamed because it was so unreal close. I didn’t call because it was so surreal. I don’t really know what close shots sound like. Just that I woke up suddenly, and thought that it can’t be true.
It was only when the police rang the doorbell several hours later that the neighbor understood what had happened.
– Then I thought that maybe I should have called 112. I don’t know, maybe it’s some kind of dullness or lack of imagination, that you don’t think that it’s coming so incredibly close. It is not possible in my fantasy world to realize. It’s still surreal.
Lived next door to the woman for 25 years
According to the neighbor, the woman was usually alone in the apartment. The killer is believed to have knocked on the apartment door – and shot the woman when she opened, according to the police theory. – We didn’t hang out, but we’ve lived next door for 25 years and I’ve seen her son and daughter grow up, although I haven’t seen much of them in recent years. I saw him who is supposed to be a gang criminal last summer, and then I didn’t recognize him because he was half a meter taller than when I last saw him.
The neighbor says that he has noticed how she has changed recently.
– Previously, she greeted politely and was happy to talk if we met on the street. But for the last maybe two years, she has been like a different person, sort of going by herself in her own. In retrospect, I can think that it can be like that if you have a gang criminal son.
Police theory: The woman was the target
Based on the way in which the woman was shot, the police suspect, according to TV4’s information, that the woman was the target. At the same time, police investigators are also looking into whether the shooter may have been looking for someone else when the mother opened the apartment door.
– It is still unreal. I thought no one would mind her. What harm had she done, she was just a mother, says the neighbor.
– I don’t really know… it just feels like a society in disintegration somehow.
