Sharp hand grenade found in Uppsala

The police and emergency services are alerted to Gottsunda in Uppsala on Saturday evening. The reason is that there must be a dangerous object with a risk of explosion.

– A caller gets in touch with us and believes he has seen a dangerous object in connection with multi-family buildings, says Tobias Ahlén-Svalbro, press spokesperson for the police in the central region.

The object later in the evening turned out to be a sharp hand grenade.

Attempts at public destruction

The alarm came just before 6pm on Saturday evening. The police waiting for the National bomb protection. No one has been injured and residents of the multi-family building have been moved in.

The police cordoned off the area and asked people moving in the area to respect them and follow the instructions we have at the scene.
