“Angled vigil”

Among the vigil’s guests and reporters, we have seen, among other things, the political expert Marcus Oscarssonthe journalist and presenter Jenny Stromstedtreporting from the state of Pennsylvania, the foreign policy commentator Rolf Porseryd as well as the USA connoisseurs Per Schlingman and Andreas Utterström.

Those who programed the vigil during the late evening hours were Tilde de Paula Eby and Jenny Alversjö. Sharp criticism is now directed at both the presenters as well as the reporters in TV4’s comment section on Instagram – where many of the viewers believe that the vigil was far too angled and left-wing.

“My God, such a biased election watcher, you only talk negatively about Trump,” writes one viewer in the comments section.

Several others believe that the presenters and experts should be better at staying neutral, and not showing too much emotion.

“The lies about Trump rain heavily on TV4, it’s clear that you don’t like Trump,” writes another.

Criticism of Olof Lundh’s participation

Olof Lundhwho is usually a sports journalist, reported on the election from Atlanta on TV4’s election watch. This has been criticized by some – who believe that Lundh should stick to football.

“Olof Lundh – stick to the sport,” writes one on TV4’s Instagram.

TV4’s project manager for the election, Mattias Hägerlundon the other hand, believes that it is important to report at eye level with the viewers, so that you reach as many people as possible.

This is how TV4 responds to the criticism

News24 has been in contact with the communications department at TV4, which has responded to the criticism.

“Many opinions of various kinds are always expressed on our social media, that’s okay. With the election effort, we have had a high ambition to report broadly for the viewers and highlight many different voices,” writes TV4’s communications department in a message to Nyheter24.
