The football pro Emil Forsberg has had a whirlwind year – both in career and private life. It started when he left Germany and RB Leipzig last winter to play for the New York Red Bulls. And shortly thereafter, his now ex-wife left Shanga Forsberg out on Instagram that the couple would divorce. The couple had then been together for 19 years and have two children together.
In the post, she says that they have chosen to separate and at the same time she expresses dissatisfaction with her ex-husband. She writes, among other things: “You also have future plans. We didn’t know about them either. If only the reporters knew that you talk to them more than to your family in recent months”.
Emil Forsberg about the accusation
This has led to several speculations and accusations that Emil Forsberg has left his ex-wife and children in the lurch. In an interview with The evening paper he puts his foot down and says that it is not true at all.
– It is not true at all that I have ghosted my family. Not at all. It’s really sad that it came out like that. I have been in contact with the children and the family all the time since I came here, he tells the newspaper.

The ex-wife fights back
The ex-couple does not seem to share the same picture of what has happened, judging from Shanga Forsberg’s Instagram story where she responds to Emil Forsberg’s statement.
She writes like this:
“I’m still waiting for his side of the coin, why he suddenly didn’t want me and his kids after the move. It’s hard to get answers when there’s no dialogue between us. Even when the divorce papers were sent to him in advance, no one came reaction. To this day, he has not asked me how I and the children are actually doing. Currently, all dialogue takes place through lawyers.”
