  • Shadow of the Erdtree metacritic – What the reviews say

What is well received? Perhaps the biggest argument for Shadow of the Erdtree is the scope of the DLC. The various reviews make it clear that the expansion can keep up with full-fledged games. This is not only evident in the new story, but also in the size of the map and the number of bosses.

These continue to be a challenge with interesting attack mechanics – especially the final boss. The staging of the bosses is also successful and contributes to the generally harmonious atmosphere.

You will experience this atmosphere especially when exploring the game world. If you liked the base game, you should also have fun with the expansion, judging by the reviews.

However, the fun of playing doesn’t just come from coolly staged bosses or an atmospheric game world. The new weapons and spells are also praised because they meaningfully expand the gameplay and offer new possibilities.

What is not well received? The biggest criticism is the navigation. If you tend to get lost easily or can’t find certain paths, Shadow of the Erdtree might cause you problems.

This of course also applies to the difficulty of the bosses. One thing is clear: it doesn’t get any easier. If the basic game was too difficult for you, you won’t suddenly become a pro gamer in the DLC. For some, the high level of difficulty is definitely a plus, but for some of you it could also mean frustration.

Somewhat frustrated, the various testers also noted that some enemies were recycled. This means that you can encounter opponents whose fighting style you already know.

If you want to play Shadow of the Erdtree, you must first defeat a certain boss: Mohg, the Bloodlord. You can find out where to find him and how to quickly send him to the afterlife on MeinMMO: Elden Ring Mohg Location: How to find and defeat the mighty Bloodlord
