Now the six-year EC is coming to a secret location in Jönköping. The competition has become world news – but is questioned by sexologists.
– You can’t compete in sex like this, this is a different kind of happening, says sexologist Suzann Larsdotter in Eter fem.
The organizer of the competition is the strip club profile and the chairman of the Swedish Sex Association, Dragan Bratic, 52, and has described the competition as a “Eurovision Song Contest in sex”.
The Sex Federation applied in December for membership in the National Sports Confederation, but the application was rejected on the grounds that it was incomplete. Despite the association not having received approval for its application for sex as a competition to become a sport, the association is now, according to its own information, arranging the sex EC at a secret location in the Jönköping area.
Sexologist Suzann Larsdotter says in Efter fem that she is doubtful about the criteria for the championship.
– I don’t think you can compete in sex like this, but this is a different kind of happening, she says.
Are you concerned that people might be taken advantage of?
– Yes, partly it is that dimension. Then I think it can reinforce the image of sex as something very performance oriented.
That’s how the competition works
According to the chairman, Dragan Bratic, the competition will last for six weeks. On Thursday 8 June, the active will arrive from Croatia, Slovenia, Great Britain, Ukraine, Russia, France, Spain, Italy and Finland, among others.
The winner is chosen by having the audience and jury rate the 13 contestants. The contestants are each free to find a partner among the other contestants. Judges and the audience watching the live broadcasts of the event are then scored on how well they succeed in 16 different elements, including seduction, foreplay, penetration, artistic execution of poses, erotic massage and the number of orgasms.
